My name is Taka and I am a musician.

My main instrument is saxophone but I also play the WX5 wind synth and flute. I run jtbStudio and all the songs on this site were recorded, mixed and mastered by myself.

My style is grounded in the blues, but also spans jazz, funk and fusion, reggae, pop and rock. I have played, worked and taught all over the world, including Australia, UK, Turkey, Hong Kong, Thailand and the Philippines.

In another life, I was a hard-core software developer and am as technical as they come. I'm as happy working with the technical side of music production as I am with the artisic.

Why do people talk about "jazz" musicians or "blues" musicians? Mix it up, mash it up, there might be a truck-load of different influences in what you play but ultimately, it's all the same thing.

I'm not a jazz musician nor a blues musician nor a rock musician.
